Surface Water

Proper purification of surface water (e.g. lakes, rivers, etc.) is monumentally important not only because water sources like this can be used as intake for industrial processes, but also because they can be used fresh drinking water sources when there are none other available. To start this process, the influent water stream would undergo biological disinfection. Although there are several methods of disinfection, this is typically done using ultraviolet light. After disinfection occurs, the stream is then fed into one of our Plate Clarifiers in order to remove any larger suspended solids. From there, the stream would flow into one of our Volcano filters for finer particulate removal. Finally, the stream would flow into Lightouse recommended carbon filter system to remove any remaining dissolved solids and organic compounds. At this point the effluent water stream would be pure enough to be used in most industrial processes or as drinking water.
