Suspended Solids

Processes that deal heavily in stone, whether it be stone fabrication, stone cutting, or some other stonework, will in turn produce a wastewater stream that is very high in sediments and suspended solids. This is problematic as it cannot be discharged into the environment, however typical water filtration systems would develop a blockage from the high volume of sediments. Lighthouse has the perfect solution to this problem using a combination of our state of the art filtration systems. First, the influent wastewater would flow through one of our Plate Clarifiers to remove the larger suspended solids. The stream would then be fed into two Volcano filters that are in series. The first Volcano would have a more coarse sand media distribution for removal of smaller sediment particles that are still in the stream, while the second Volcano would have a fine sand media distribution in order to remove any remaining suspended solids.
